Draft Stock Watch

As the 2025 NFL Draft draws closer, we’re now just 31 days away and already witnessing the annual phenomenon where players’ draft stock rises and falls—without a single new snap of football being played. Between Pro Day performances, media narratives, background checks, interviews, and injury updates, boards are shifting daily. Let’s take a look at some of the biggest risers, fallers, and names to watch.

Quarterbacks

Cam Ward appears to be locked in as the likely No. 1 overall pick by the Tennessee Titans. With Will Levis underperforming and Ward impressing in both visits and his Pro Day, the Titans may finally have their long-term answer under center.

Shedeur Sanders seems solidified as the consensus QB2 and a likely top-10 pick. Most mocks have him heading to the Giants, but if they pass, a QB-needy team will likely move up to get him.

Jaxson Dart has seen his stock climb into the first-round conversation. While it may be a reach, QB-needy teams often take swings when the supply is short.

Jalen Milroe is still a Day 2 guy. His athleticism is off the charts, but his inconsistencies and lack of polish likely keep him out of Round 1.

Big Risers

  • Tyler Warren (TE) is flying up boards, now often mocked in the top 7 picks.
  • Matthew Golden (WR) impressed at the Combine, especially in the 40, and has moved ahead of Luther Burden III in many mocks. Steve Smith Sr. even ranks him above Tetairoa McMillan.
  • Jalon Walker (LB/EDGE) has risen steadily and is now a top-10 lock in most projections, frequently linked to Carolina at No. 8.
  • Jihaad Campbell (LB) went from Day 2 to top-15 pick status.
  • Nick Emmanwori (S) crushed the Combine with a historic performance, pushing himself into Round 1 range, occasionally even ahead of Malaki Starks.
  • Mykel Williams (EDGE) has gained steam as a mid-to-late Round 1 pick.
  • Ashton Gillotte and Josaiah Stewart (EDGE) are gaining traction as teams sort through a crowded and talented EDGE class.

Notable Fallers

  • Tetairoa McMillan (WR) hasn’t done anything wrong, but others like Golden are simply rising faster.
  • Nic Scourton (EDGE) has dropped from top-3 EDGE status to potentially 6th at his position.
  • James Pearce Jr. (EDGE) still a first-rounder, but rumors about his coachability and character have cooled some hype.
  • Mike Green (EDGE) had a meteoric rise after the Senior Bowl but has fallen slightly after sexual assault allegations surfaced. Still, he remains a likely Round 1 pick.
  • Xavier Restrepo (WR) had a disappointing Pro Day and admitted to a hamstring injury. His stock has taken a hit, though he could still be a Day 2 sleeper.

Projected Positional Trends for Round 1

  • Quarterbacks: 2-3 expected (Ward, Sanders, possibly Dart)
  • Wide Receivers: Up to 6 could go, including Hunter, McMillan, Golden, Burden III
  • Tight Ends: 2 projected (Warren, Loveland)
  • Safeties: 1-2 (Emmanwori, Starks)
  • Cornerbacks: Up to 4
  • Offensive Linemen: Could see an early run due to thin class depth
  • EDGE/DTs: Could dominate both Round 1 and Day 2 with at least 7 EDGE players likely to go in Round 1 (including hybrid Jalon Walker)

The draft stock market is shifting quickly, and with just a month to go, the big boards are still far from finalized. Stay tuned to OnTheClockHQ.com for the latest updates, mock drafts, and breakdowns leading up to Draft Night.
